Supermarine Spitfire Photograph
1940s fighter plane seen at former RAF Westhampnett airfield
This is one of 170+ images of classic aircraft and cars that I took at the September 2004 Circuit Revival meeting at Goodwood, in Sussex, which during WW2 was an operational RAF airfield. Postwar the perimeter track was used for motor racing, and the Goodwood circuit was born.

The restored Supermarine aeroplane on this page was photographed over the 3 day Revival weekend at Goodwood, which always has a large vintage aircraft contingent supporting the historic racing. This silver and red Spitfire is a fighter plane of the type often seen at aerodromes and airfields years ago.
You'll find many more restored classic aircraft photos similar to this Supermarine Spitfire elsewhere on Classic Wheels, just have a look at the left hand menu.
If you are a collector of Supermarine Spitfire memorabilia, or are looking other info on this historic 1940s Supermarine plane, see the list of related aeronautica on sale today at the ebay auction site - click here

The picture shown here is of a silver and red Spitfire (photo #158 in this set of photographs taken at the 2004 Revival). You can read more about the event here: Goodwood review.
