Jaguar D-Type
1955 Jaguar racing car seen at the 2004 Goodwood Revival
This is one of 170+ images of classic cars and aircraft that I took at the September 2004 Circuit Revival meeting at Goodwood, in Sussex.
[Index of Goodwood images]
The restored Jaguar below was photographed over the 3 day weekend at Goodwood. This british racing green D-Type is a racing car of the type often seen at motor racing meets and events in years gone by, this particular Jaguar racing car dating back to the 1955 era. Such cars
would have appeared in racing car races at motorsport meetings, such as those at Goodwood.
You'll find many more restored vehicles similar to this Jaguar D-Type elsewhere on Classic Wheels, just have a look at the left hand menu.
If you are a collector of Jaguar D-Type information, or are looking for parts for a 1955 Jaguar, see the list of related memorabilia on sale today at the ebay auction site - click here

The picture below of a british racing green D-Type is photo #22 in this set of photographs taken at the 2004 Revival. You can read more about the event here: Goodwood review.
Further notes on this classic D-Type:
774RW is perhaps the best known of all the D-Types produced. The original 774RW as raced in 1955 took Mike Hawthorn to a win at Le Mans - the race alas best remembered as the one where Mercedes had their terrible pit straight crash.
