De Havilland Heron Photograph
1950s aircraft seen at former RAF Westhampnett airfield
This is one of 170+ images of classic aircraft and cars that I took at the September 2004 Circuit Revival meeting at Goodwood, in Sussex, which during WW2 was an operational RAF airfield. Postwar the perimeter track was used for motor racing, and the Goodwood circuit was born.

The restored De Havilland aeroplane on this page was photographed over the 3 day Revival weekend at Goodwood, which always has a large vintage aircraft contingent supporting the historic racing. This grey and white Heron is a aircraft of the type often seen at aerodromes and airfields years ago.
You'll find many more restored classic aircraft photos similar to this De Havilland Heron elsewhere on Classic Wheels, just have a look at the left hand menu.
If you are a collector of De Havilland Heron memorabilia, or are looking other info on this historic 1950s De Havilland plane, see the list of related aeronautica on sale today at the ebay auction site - click here

The picture shown here is of a grey and white Heron (photo #169 in this set of photographs taken at the 2004 Revival). You can read more about the event here: Goodwood review.
Further notes on Heron built by De Havilland in the 1950s era:
This Heron is a very rare survivor and big brother to the twin engine DH Dove variant.
